- 10 Simple Ways You
Can Protect Your Baby's Smile is an attractive, well- researched
parent education brochure. Intended to be distributed at the physician
six-month well child exam, the 10 Simple Ways pamphlet includes disease
prevention guidance for parents, information about local dental resources,
and a family dental checklist.
The corresponding Pediatric Oral Health Guide for the Primary Care Physician (pdf - 373 kb) brochure outlines screening procedures in a primary care setting, and includes up-to-date information on the use of fluoride supplements, toothpaste and fluoride varnish. The physician pamphlet includes references for the recommended 10 simple ways parents can protect baby's smile.
The 10 Simple Ways parent guide and Oral Health Guide for physicians were both developed locally by a group of physicians, dentists, and health department and hospital personnel, with technical assistance from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Grant support provided by St. Luke's Foundation and Mt. Baker District Dental Society.
Up to twenty copies of the parent education handout “10 Simple Ways You Can Protect Your Baby's Smile” are available in English, Russian, and Spanish, at no charge upon request. Additional copies may be available at no-charge, or for a donation toward the cost of printing. If you would like to request copies, please use our request form.
